History & Milestones
To reduce plastic in the online-delivery food industry, we developed a 100% recyclable packaging for cooling food in transit with an online shipper of regional food.
Rebranding - Lehner ♥ 100% Wool
For our 50th anniversary, we rethink our brand world and focus on our competence and love for sheep's wool with the umbrella brand Lehner loves 100% Wool. We also continue to grow: New hall, packaging, delivery area & new offices.
Launch Ionic Protect® wool protection
While working on various research projects, Ing. Alexander Lehner discovers the possibility of an effective plasma treatment as long-term insect protection for sheep's wool: sustainable and completely biocide-free. The Ionic Protect® process is tested and certified and is a unique solution worldwide.
Our wool centre in Waizenkirchen is opened
After years of construction work, our competence centre for wool opens its doors. Since then, we have been organising courses, training, seminars and congresses in our showrooms and seminar rooms, and we offer an insight into our wool know-how.
The largest carpet in the world is woven
World record (attempt): Take 350 kilos of sheep's wool and more than 40 hard-working helpers and you get an unprecedented world record attempt, which Alexander was able to successfully realise together with his comrades-in-arms. 170m² of wool carpet on the community façade.
Revival of hand-woven carpets
Life is being breathed back into the old looms. With the new rug system FELICE, we have created another innovative Lehner product range.
Brand foundation: Silentum
The Silentum brand is born: the sustainable acoustic felts make people sit up and take notice when it comes to room acoustics and are a highly attractive solution for interior design.
Brand foundation: STYLIT
The STYLIT brand at the time Flower Wool/Lehnerfloral is born from a visit to the Trendset fair in Munich. The design of the trade fair stand worked something like this: Take the ISOLENA trade fair stand, the dining room table from home, a portion of youthful frivolity and a florist who takes woven wool to decorate.
Brand foundation: ISOLENA
With the ISOLENA brand, sheep's wool is introduced to the market as a sustainable insulation material.
All machines were built and developed by hand by Ing. Alexander Lehner.
Lehner enters the second generation
Kurt and Herta's son Alexander Lehner takes over the business together with his wife Felicitas. The two gradually develop new application springs for the raw material sheep's wool.
Foundation of the carpet weaving mill
Kurt and Herta Lehner found the carpet weaving company 'Lehner Wolle'. Our innovative spirit has a long tradition: as early as the 1970s, the company invested in the development of new yarns and weaving techniques.
