A matter of the heart:

Social project Africa

At Lehner Wolle, our actions are characterised by sustainability, mindfulness and a sense of community. Guided by deep empathy and charity, we want to support people in need and give them hope.

In Uganda, through the "Vision for Africa" initiative, we support those whose voices often go unheard. Those who live in poverty and whose concerns barely reach us in Europe. We lend them a helping hand to give them a better future.

Impressions
Godchild with family:

Bridget's story

We, Felicitas and Miriam Lehner, support the project with conviction and were on site in Uganda.

We were very moved by the story of Miriam's godchild Bridget and her siblings. The parents left the siblings when their youngest son Emma was just one year old. What they have left is a small piece of land with a dilapidated, non-weatherproof dwelling without water and electricity, with too few beds and a simple fireplace.

Their daily life is challenging: They walk several times a day 2 km to the well to fetch water. Their biggest concern is the daily meals and the eldest siblings Rachel and Samuel, try to somehow keep the family afloat.

Our mission:

Hope for Bridget and her siblings

During our first visit, the siblings invited us to their home. Despite their own plight, they had cooked for us and wanted to share what little they had with us. We were deeply touched by their warmth.

Our "Christmas for Bridget" campaign was born out of this moment in 2024 - and thus the beginning of a development that would change the lives of these five children for the better. What started with helping Bridget became a mission for the whole family.

2025 - Personal
How the children were allowed to grow

Four of the siblings can now go to school regularly, while their eldest brother Simon supports the family as a fisherman. Rachel was able to start an internship at the hospital - an important step towards her dream of becoming a nurse.

2024 - House renovation part 1
Start of structural refurbishment

With great support from our local contacts, we have started to renovate the house and make it liveable: a sealed roof, windows and doors, bunk beds for enough sleeping space. Our wish: the little house should become a home for the children, a place where they feel safe and secure - even without their parents.

For good reason:

A Christmas present with a difference

We are deliberately foregoing Christmas presents for our partners and using this money to give this family in Uganda a safe, dignified life.

There, hopelessness is turned into new confidence, worry is turned into joie de vivre.

For us, real joy means giving the future - where it is most urgently needed.
